Resolving Missing SMS Codes: Manual Generation

In the event that a client does not receive the anticipated SMS code for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), ioGates offers a practical solution to manually generate a one-time code, ensuring uninterrupted access to shared content.

Generating a One-Time Code Manually

  1. Access the Shared Folder: Navigate to the folder you have shared within ioGates and enter the Sharing menu.

  2. User Options: Locate the User options menu, then select the user experiencing issues with receiving the SMS code.

  3. Obtain the Login Code: Click on the "Get Login Code" option. The generated code will appear in the top right corner of the interface.

  4. Communicate the Code: Directly inform the client of the code via email or phone call. This manually generated code remains valid for 1 hour, providing a sufficient window for the client to access the shared content.

Transitioning to an Authentication App

While manually generating a code offers a quick fix, transitioning clients to use an authentication app for 2FA is recommended for a more reliable and streamlined process. Authentication apps eliminate dependency on SMS delivery, offering a more consistent and secure method of access verification.
